Tournament Features 14 Division I Men's Golf Teams with Several of the Nation's Top Amateurs on Nov. 8-11
SAN MARTIN, CA - CordeValle, A Rosewood Resort proudly announces that it will hold the Fifth Annual CordeValle Collegiate Golf Tournament on November 8-11, 2009. With UCLA serving as the host team, many of the nation's top golf programs will compete in this year's tournament, including a number of standout collegiate golfers. Spectators are welcome to attend.
The 14 competing schools in this year's Collegiate include: Arizona, Augusta State, UNC Charlotte, Colorado, Duke, Lamar, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Long Beach State, Northwestern, Stanford, UCLA, and USC. Standout players scheduled to compete include UCLA's Gregor Main, who grew up in Danville, Calif. and was recently named a Pac-10 Co-Golfer of the Year and Freshman of the Year, and first-team All-Americans Steve Ziegler of Stanford, Matthew Giles of USC, and Morgan Hoffman of Oklahoma State.

"It is an honor to welcome some of the country's most outstanding college golfers to compete at one of the most exclusive and challenging courses in the U.S."
A total of 14 six-man teams (92 players total, with some teams fielding additional golfers on an individual basis) will participate in the CordeValle Collegiate. This is the only NCAA golf event these teams play that utilizes a foursome format, pairing two players from one team with two players from another team. Representatives from the Northern California Golf Association will officiate.
